There are different materials and tools that can make your job easier depending on what you are trying to accomplish. Understanding Fiberglass
Understanding as much about fiberglass as you can will help you work with this type of material a little easier. First of all fiberglass is very resistant to the weather. It is some of the strongest material used in boat building and works well when used over other materials to reinforce them and make them stronger. Fiberglass does not expand or contract and it is a fairly lightweight material.
Fiberglass is sometimes called “spun glass” and “glassfibre” because it actually consists of tiny fine pieces of glass fibers. These fibers are pressed together and used as a reinforcing agent. Many people develop a rash when working with fiberglass so it is important to wear protective clothing. These tiny pieces of glass tend to work their way through your skin if it is not protected.
